Katie Walker

Katie’s work is a process where one calculation leads to the next and so on, until the dialectic, the energy and the opposing forces are interesting and complete to me. The finished “image” is a compilation of her ideas and experiences and reactions to the materials she is using. Katie manipulates them to build a language of personal imagery that, to her, is aesthetically pleasing, thought-provoking and at times, humorous. She always encourages the viewer to interpret their meaning based on their own experiences. Katie works primarily with acrylic on canvas, paper, and wood.
